The currency used is call the Iranian Rials (RL). They have both notes and coins.  The denominations of the notes: 10000, 5000, 2000, 1000, 500, 200, 100. The coins denominations: 250, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5.  USA dollars and most any currency can be exchanged for Iranian Rials and Visa/MasterCard can also be used in Iran.

What language is spoken in Iran?
The most widely spoken language in Iran is but other languages are also spoken.  These include: Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish, and English.  French and German are also spoken but to a much lesser extent.

You will be prohibited from alcoholic beverage, drugs, guns and/or ammunition, obscene or pornographic material.

It's not illegal to use a cell phone in Iran but only phones connected to their operating system will work.  Cell phones in Iran do not run on the typical satellite system.
